Director, Clinical Science ViewRay
Responsibilities:
The Director of Clinical Science will be responsible for building relationships within the Radiation Oncology community and establishing a Research Partners Program. The Director will provide strategic planning, leadership and oversight for this program that will provide funding for research grants and clinical studies.
Duties:
Establish and manage Research Partners program including overall program goals and procedures for entering into Master Research Agreements and Individual Project agreements
Develop strategies and implementation plans, in partnership with Company management, that achieve the Companys strategic goals, including in particular, establishing the Companys products and methods as standard of care in all target markets.
Establish relationships with key partners that foster good science and commercial success
Develop legal agreements that protect Company IP and provide access to others intellectual property
Establish budget for program as well as deliverables for each agreement that are appropriate to achieving program objectives.
Establish and manage a database that tracks research and clinical study outcomes utilizing the Companys products and maintain strong internal relationships to support the needs of Science, R&D, Marketing and Business Development teams.
Communicate extensively with internal team members so that they are aware of all key activities and issues that are being faced, or are anticipated, relative to Product and Process Development objectives.
Foster publication of research results and visibility in clinical community of Company products and research
Other tasks as may be assigned by company management
Required Experience and Qualifications:
MS or Ph.D. in physics or related discipline. Board certification is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years experience in Oncology and/or imaging industry with strong knowledge of clinical, technical and business issues faced by Hospitals and free-standing imaging and treatment centers
Memberships to pertinent professional societies and established relationships with leaders in the Radiation Oncology and imaging community
Knowledge of medical device regulatory environment as it pertains to sponsored research
Self motivation, capability to achieve organizational and program objectives, and ability to interface with all levels of internal management and the external customer
Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills
Demonstrated prior success in operating in a small company or entrepreneurial environment a requirement.
Superior communication and presentation skills, leadership abilities and negotiation skills.
