The Director, Community Solutions Sales is responsible for growing Recyclebank?s incentive-based curbside recycling program in municipalities throughout the Mid-West. The Sales Director primarily partners with waste industry channel partners to achieve aggressive sales targets in their defined territory. The Sales Director actively supports each sale opportunity throughout the sales lifecycle including:
Prospecting & initial inquiry
Presentation to clients, including Mayors, city staff and City Council
Post-sale hand-off to account management teams
Strategic post-mortem on any lost deals
Significant interaction with channel partners and municipal clients.
This position reports to the Regional VP, Client Services.
Responsible for generating new business by building and managing a prospect pipeline.
Partnering closely with key channel sales partners (non-municipal waste industry haulers) to identify and target new prospects.
Create channel partner renewal and new business strategies that incorporate Recyclebank.
Assist municipalities in the RFP drafting process.
Ensure that RFPs are responded to in a timely manner and that responses conform to Recyclebank?s standard specifications.
Present the Recyclebank value proposition to municipal staff and city officials.
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders including city officials, city staff, environmental organizations, and hauler partners.
Establish and grow general market intelligence, including knowledge of local politics, municipal budgets, hauler-municipal dynamics, pricing dynamics, and Recyclebank competitors.
Attend and speak at regional trade shows to help generate awareness and demand for the Recyclebank program.
Willing and able to travel up to 70% of time in order to meet with channel partners and municipal prospects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively make persuasive speeches and presentations. Highly capable over email, telephone, and in-person, including presenting to small and large audiences.
Aptitude for working with channel partners to acquire new business.
Ability to communicate Recyclebank?s value proposition to diverse audiences.
Tactful negotiator: understands others quickly and can find common ground without compromising total position.

BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Government, Economics, or related field and 10 years+ in a sales function.
Personnel sales record in a municipal environment demonstrating the ability to develop a pipeline and close deals in a consistent manner.
Previous experience in working closely with channel partners, ideally in situations where your product or service was part of a larger bundled offering.
