The Director of Corporate Communications will be responsible for building, executing, and reporting on the company?s global media relations activities. He/she will be also responsible for leading all internal communications activities and managing the global analyst relations (AR) program. This role will take direction from the executive leadership team on the vision for the organization and core product lines. He/she will then be responsible for creation and delivery of a comprehensive communications plan for crafting and then successfully mobilizing prioritized messages across core external markets using a variety of tactics and channels including but not limited to news releases, blogging, social media platforms, global surveys, proactive new generation, and reactive but rapid response to breaking news real-time. He/she will manage the internal PR team as well as multiple external PR agencies in addition to the corporate events manager.
BS/BA in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a corporate and/or agency media relations environment with a background in information technology, security, or a related field preferred. Personnel and global agency management experience a must.
Strong verbal/written/presentation communication skills
Established relationships with trade, and national, daily and business press
Highest level of management skills with ability to effectively direct the company's communications operations to ensure the company's image/perception and current product positioning are reflected accurately and consistently to the market
Highest knowledge of public relations and communications principles and practice
Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations and organizational skills
Proficient PC skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to, the following:
Executive Communications ? speech writing, speaking opportunities, blogging, media tours, awards, etc.
Internal Communications ? Intranet management, employee newsletter, employee education programs, internal brand building programs, etc.
Drafting and editing of communications documents ? press releases, pitches, bylines, award submissions, case studies, etc
Management of communications for corporate announcements such as M&A activity and financial news, and any crisis situation - includes talking points, Q&A, employee and customer communications, etc.
Definition and roll-out of defined communications services available to the organization and a clear process for leveraging said resources.
Raise the company?s visibility across targeted trade and business publications through a variety of communications channels including but not limited to news releases, byline articles, blog posts, social media tactics, events, creative new generation, rapid response pitches, and more.
Management of a cross-divisional media relations program balancing support for product launches, thought leadership, and support for events.
Planning and execution of press tours for senior management team ? corporate and product based.
Analysis of multiple editorial, review, and awards calendars for story placements, pitching, and product submission opportunities ? then lead the team to take advantage of said opportunities.
Top-level management of all global news generation and issuance processes company-wide including news release issuance processes, pitch approvals, topic approvals, and more.
Centralize and report on monthly media relations metrics globally.
