Director, Corporate & Marketing Communications
The Director, Corporate & Marketing Communications reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is responsible for proactive and strategic direction on all facets of corporate communications, media relations, corporate image and visibility, branding and financial communication. The position will provide support on issues and reputation management. The main focus is the development of communications strategies and plans; directing all activities on behalf of Corporate Communications including identifying, tracking, monitoring and analysis of issues and creating all communications products (messaging, Q&As, etc.).
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage corporate communications objectives and goals to both internal and external audiences.
Support corporate issues and reputation management activities.
Lead corporate branding and marketing communications.
Develop and execute corporate media plans based on department objectives and strategies.
Support public affairs professionals in messaging for Stratus and all of its business and functional units.
Develop and implement executive visibility programs; provide strategic counsel to senior executives and business unit leaders on matters relating to corporate positioning.
Oversee the development and implementation of corporate social media plans and activities including digital materials in support of demand generation programs.
Manage corporate communication efforts for investor relations.
Act as corporate spokesperson.
Manage relationships with outside agencies.
Lead a team (4-5) of marketing professionals.
Qualifications & Capabilities:
Bachelor?s degree in business/communications/public affairs or similar educational background is required. Graduate degree preferred, although relevant experience in public affairs will be considered in lieu of formal training.
7-10 years? experience managing corporate communications; experience in public affairs relating to high technology and enterprise selling is strongly desired.
Direct experience managing investor/financial communications is required, although specific investor relations knowledge is not required.
Familiarity with global communications and media relations is critical. Ability to manage a network of global PR agencies; international media experience a plus.
Experience leading and motivating a team of high achieving professionals.
Outstanding written communication and public speaking skills.
Proven ability to develop strategic direction, coupled with hands-on tactical execution expertise.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.
Ability to work cross-functionally and interact with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a global and culturally diverse environment.
Excellent verbal and written command of the English language, additional languages a plus.
Existing established media and analysts relationships a plus.
Ability to proactively identify communications opportunities.
