Accolade is data driven company, whose business model and competitive advantage are largely based on its ability to collect, manage and utilize complex health care and third-party data from a broad array of data streams. Reporting directly to the VP - Data Management, the Director of Data Architecture will work closely with senior leadership along with IT and business cross-functional data users to design and implement a data architecture program that delivers an enterprise data model, logical/physical naming standards, reference and master data management standards and a framework for implementing a Data Governance Office (DGO). The emphasis will be on establishing a highly reliable, controlled and largely automated capability to manage the structure and governance of a continuous data flow to and from multiple partners. This position requires building strong relationships across IT and other departments, establishing best practices and driving toward business goals. Key immediate deliverables for this role will include the establishment of data architecture standards at an enterprise level for us in both OLTP and OLAP environment, establishing the DGO and working with the Data Management leadership team to design, develop and implement master data and reference master data automated processes to ensure industry and organizational compliance is addressed.
Develops the overall enterprise data architecture strategy, methodology and standards, and promotes across the Data Management team.
Provides thought leadership in the area of data warehousing, predictive analytics, and business intelligence.
Manage and develop a small team of data management architects and other internal/external technical resources responsible for delivery and support of enterprise data models, data warehousing and master data.
Creates appropriate standards, processes and tools to promote and facilitate a consistent architectural approach for the design and mapping of data sources focusing on the integrity and security of all data sources.
Focuses on enterprise data governance and establishes enterprise governance processes around master data management, reference data management and key performance indicators to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reusability of data.
Drive selection of data modeling and master data management tools and the development of standards, usage guidelines and procedures for those tools.
Develop and maintain the enterprise data model and corresponding data dictionary for use across all areas of the organization.
Establish dynamic collaborative relationships with the Reporting and Analytics Teams to ensure consistent data management approaches across all corporate reporting and data channels
Provide strategic input on long term infrastructure requirements related to data architecture, archiving policies and data security as required.
Bachelor?s degree and 12+ years of full life-cycle with data architecture, data warehousing, business intelligence, predictive analytics and data governance or master data management
Relational and Dimensional data modeling experience designing both logical and physical data models
Experience implementing and establishing policies and procedures for CASE tools such as ERwin or ERStudio
Solid experience / knowledge of all areas of IT (Application Development, Data Management and Infrastructure)
At least 3 ? 5 years working with leading ETL tools such as Informatica or Data Stage
A minimum of 5 ? 7 years delivering warehouse and reporting platforms on Oracle or SQL Server platforms
Experience delivering robust data management solutions that address all aspects of Enterprise Data Management from data acquisition to business intelligence reporting in a manner consistent with industry data management principles
At least 3 years leading a Data Governance Office or Committee with ?C? level executives membership with a focus on corporate meta-data management and standardization
In addition, the qualified candidates will have:
Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of the organization
Experience working with both on-shore and off-shore partners to implement critical programs
Knowledge of multi-channel development, web-development, portal integration and CRM platforms
Familiarity with meta-data management tools ? enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools and data profiling tools
Experience with the complete information system life cycle particularly within the Agile/Scrum methodology
Experience working in a large data focused organization is a plus; especially within either financial or health services enterprise data management organizations
