Director, Finance Vertafore, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This position will provide leadership and financial expertise in the financial planning and analysis function in support of Sales, Service and General Administration. This position will ensure that plans, forecasts and investment analyses are both timely and accurate, and will work with all members of the finance and accounting team and the business and organizational personnel to bring sound financial analysis and tools to support the growing business.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for functional areas.
Partners with business leaders in building budgets and forecasts, and informing bilaterally cross functional leadership of key drivers.
Transforms financial data into concise and accurate decision making information.
Prepares and manages annual budgets and regular forecasts of revenue and expenses, capital, and cash flows.
Manages and/or conducts financial analysis (revenue, cost, profit, cash flow, balance sheet, pricing).
Works with Executive team to evaluate business performance from both a strategic and financial perspective.
Reviews and explains significant account variances when comparing actual, budgets, and forecasts.
Provides financial analysis and diligence assistance in acquisitions, joint ventures, and other new business opportunities.
Assesses risk of new products and potential impact on stakeholder value.
Provides finance support for the development of new tools and methods to support internal customers.
Ensures compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Assists the in formulating and implementing new financial systems, tools, and methods.
Translates planning guidelines from Corporate Finance to specific performance objectives.
Leads the coordination and development of the annual operating budget process.
Prepare monthly variance analysis, operating statistics, and presentation material.
Review reports on budget related issues and special projects.
Work with department managers to develop various monthly and annual budget presentations.
Perform trend analysis with respect to key metrics.
Work with and support operational managers as part of annual budget, monthly forecasting, and month-end closing analysis.
Ensure that the decision-making processes have the relevant and sound financial information.
Ensure that capital investments are continually reassessed in terms of the financial impact.
Identify funding issues, risks and opportunities and resolve these.
Provide both financial and non-financial reporting to ensure that managers have valid, current information to enable both strong financial ownership and appropriate inputs to the decision-making processes.
Analysis to include cost controls, profitability improvement, and asset efficiencies.
Leading and Directing Others
Provide strategic direction and leadership for a team of financial analysts.
Implement processes, techniques and tools that optimize the effectiveness of the team and result in quality deliverables.
Demonstrate the kind of leadership that helps to ensure retention of existing employees while achieving high levels of productivity.
Evaluate performance and completion of initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
10+ years of progressively responsible work experience in financial analyses and management.
Demonstrated leadership skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to large and small audiences.
Strong quantitative, analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
Commensurate experience with proactively reviewing, developing, improving and or implementing companywide processes and procedures.
Experience working in multiple cross-functional areas (Product Management and Development) preferred with the ability to develop strong partnerships.
Bachelor?s degree & MBA or equivalent experience
