Director, Global Compensation and Benefits Etsy
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Etsy is seeking a Director, Global Compensation & Benefits to be based in Brooklyn, NY, and reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources. This new position will support the rapid and sustained global growth of Etsy, and the Human Resources team.
To be successful in this role, the Director, Global Compensation & Benefits will work closely with the HR, finance & accounting, and legal teams to ensure all of Etsy?s global compensation, benefits, and payroll goals are met. Using superior analytical skills and specialized knowledge, they will work with the VP, Human Resources to model and make recommendations on various compensation and benefits approaches that have a direct impact on the attraction and retention of key talent at Etsy.
About the position
In this role you will:
Build and manage a team that is responsible for global compensation design and analysis, benefits design and administration, and payroll operations.
Drive the design, implementation, and ongoing management of all cash and equity compensation programs.
Build compensation models and forecasts. Partner with accounting and finance to ensure the proper accrual and accounting of these programs.
Prepare materials for Board of Director Compensation Committee meetings. Make recommendations and prepare data analysis, plan design alternatives, executive compensation, director pay, and performance incentive plans.
Join, contribute to, and evaluate benchmark surveys to ensure Etsy is competitive with its overall pay and benefit practices.
Work with external consultants to design and implement global benefit plans.
Partner with HR Business Partners and HR systems team to build functionality in support of the needs of the compensation and benefits function.
Communicate compensation and equity plans to all employees, including base pay, incentive and equity plans.
Provide technical guidance on executive and equity compensation issues to Human Resource and the broader executive team.
Bachelor?s Degree required in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or Accounting.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience and proven track record of success in roles focused on running company-wide cash and equity compensation programs.
Must be familiar with benefits design and implementation, having partnered with external brokers/consultants.
Experience in leading and coaching a team/department, with direct responsibility for the team member?s growth and development within their respective disciplines.
Both private and public company experience is highly desired, but not required.
Must have a broad experience in designing and implementing a variety of base pay, short- and long-term incentive plans.
Significant experience in administering a broad based equity program, including stock options and restricted stock and/or restricted stock units.
Must demonstrate a high degree of business acumen in order to partner with other executives to develop effective compensation strategies.
Superior skills in using HR software to access and manipulate data.
Must have highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills and presentation software skills (i.e. Powerpoint or Keynote)
Experience in a multinational environment, with expertise in global benchmarks, expatriate and international assignments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; must be able to effectively manage both ambiguity aggressive timelines for projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to synthesize complex analyses and concepts into crisp and clear management presentations.

Prior compensation experience with mid-sized to large companies in the internet/e-commerce industry experience.
