We are looking for a seasoned Compensation and Benefits expert who is able to design programs with global applicability and willing to roll up their sleeves and implement their solutions. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, this position will drive the total rewards philosophy and design programs that support the philosophy and culture of the organization while enabling local implementation.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Global Compensation and Benefits will be responsible for driving Total Rewards for Ruckus Wireless balancing offerings in benefits, fixed, variable and equity compensation to meet corporate goals and initiatives within budget parameters. Develop a global philosophy and work with our in country HR team on local implementation You will understand the human component of the role, and drive the foundation of Ruckus?s performance management and retention strategy through strategic and growth oriented total rewards programs.
Reporting into the VP of Human Resources, you will be a subject matter expert who will deliver strong recommendations to Ruckus?s executive team on all compensation programs. You will be strategic, but also hands-on, and will ideally have a mix of large company experience coupled with entrepreneurial, high-growth company experience. Global experience and interaction are essential to the success of this role.
As the Director of Global Compensation and Benefits you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Management, administration, creation and development of all compensation and benefits programs for the global organization. You will facilitate the coordination of all compensation and benefits programs to support and align with business objectives and strategy. As the Company continues to grow, be responsible for hiring a staff to provide support, research, implementation and development of people strategies in the area of total rewards.
Participate in market data surveys; evaluate compensation and benefits trends, market data and benchmark surveys to ensure market competitiveness of all compensation programs and benefits offerings.
Design and implement different compensation structures in the organization including grading system, job evaluation system, job description policy, promotion policy, etc. aligned with the corporate culture and values.
Responsible for recommending the Compensation philosophy as it relates to structure, sales compensation, equity compensation, merit budgeting and process and bonus program designs. Ensuring consistency in the organization across geographies and functions, make recommendations to the VP on changes and alignment.
Review International benefits offerings to identify areas of synergy to maximize cost effectiveness of offerings across geographies.
Manage all US employee benefit programs including health and welfare, salary replacement and ancillary plans. Research, recommend and implement changes to programs for annual review. Ensure programs are market competitive and cost effective.
Manage the RFP process for renewal or selection of benefit plans and oversees payment of premiums, claims, and administration fees.
Manage all benefits vendors and brokers to ensure delivery of timely, high quality service to the organization in all areas of the world.
Lead all benefits outsourcing initiatives and related ongoing administration with select vendors.
Acts as a liaison with carriers, vendors, and consultants on various matters such as design, contracts, coverage, and renewals.
Leads the administration of 401(k) plan and the Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plan including enrollment activity, plan changes, and communication to employees. Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
Develop and lead all employee benefits communication and educational efforts for employees.
Lead processes for compliance requirements of employee benefits related programs such as COBRA administration, HIPAA, discrimination testing, etc.
Participate with finance on completion and submission of required filings such as 5500's and creation and communication of required documents such as Summary Annual Reports and Summary Plan Descriptions for all benefit plans.
Provide proactive counsel and serve as a resource to management and human resources staff on benefit programs, policies, and practices: provides training and direction to HR team and employee population.
Evaluate and make recommendations on additional benefits offerings. Manage the design and implementation of all selected programs.
Lead the use of HRIS and other technology to improve productivity and efficiency in compensation and benefit programs.
Manage communication regarding compensation and benefits plans/policies to ensure the biggest return and to educate the employee population about both the content and the value of the programs being provided.
Manage all Leaves of Absence for the business ensuring compliance with all requirements. Be responsible for keeping up with changes in the law and ensure the HR team is trained on all new regulations.
Provides interpretation of company philosophy, policy and principles related to the areas of compensation and benefits.
Work closely with HR Business Partners to provide information and support the needs of their client organizations.
Lead cost management efforts for benefits offerings, finding the right balance between offerings and employee participation. Evaluate offerings to ensure they are a fit for our philosophy and demographics
Manages annual audit of all compensation and benefits programs for both compliance and competitiveness with the market.
The Person:
You will have prior experience in a similar role, focused on all aspects of compensation and benefits, including: base pay, variable pay, equity compensation, sales compensations, and benefits programs. You will be analytical, but also creative, possess strong business acumen and understand how to attract talent in a competitive landscape, in particular with engineering and sales. You will be a strong communicator and comfortable delivering a message both in written information and presentations to the employee population. Well versed on the various regulations surrounding compensation and benefits such as HIPAA, 5500?s, 280G, etc.
Knowledge:
You will possess strong proactive leadership, including organization, project management, delegation and analytical skills with a customer-service orientation. History of developing a strategically designed approach to the creation of compensation and benefits programs in line with the organizations goals and objectives. Apply creative problem solving to various business issues ensuring we meet objectives within desired budget parameters. Team player attitude and willing to assist the group and company as a whole to enable success. Track record of driving programs to conclusion on time and in budget through delegation and partnering with appropriate teams members and outside vendors. Open to designing leading edge offerings that support the business culture and objectives. Comfortable dealing with employees around the world to partner for the best offerings in their local regions while upholding the philosophy of the company as a whole.
Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of compensation strategies, regulations and philosophies including experience working with global programs and designs. Prior experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs from the ground floor in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to multi-task ? drive multiple projects at once. Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization and influence key decision makers. Prior knowledge of HRIS systems, specifically Workday. Experience with domestic and global benefits offerings. Comfortable in a dynamic fast-paced environment where you must be able to design as well as implement.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, management or other related field required.
Years of Experience:
Minimum of ten years directly related compensation and benefits experience. Experience managing small teams to deliver success. Experience delivering global programs is required.
