Located in the Davis, CA. facility, the primary responsibility of the Director of Global Product
Management is to be accountable for driving strategy in order to maximize the financial returns on the microbial
strains/insecticide active ingredients (assets) that are assigned through the life?cycle, globally.
The successful incumbent will:
? Identify, evaluate, and lead initiatives to manage the assigned assets, ensuring sustainable profitability and
growth, optimizing investments and increasing efficiency.
? Balance the inputs and demands from the company?s global, regional and country constituencies, develop
strategies to maximize the life?cycle profit opportunity for the assigned asset(s).
? Gain cross?functional and executive agreement on the strategy, be accountable for delivery of growth and
profit identified in strategy by working together with the operating teams.
? Become the ?go?to? expert in the organization on all market and business aspects related to the assigned
strains/active ingredients.
? Understand the spectrum of activity and mechanism of action of the assigned active ingredient and become
knowledgeable of the opportunities in the major crop protection markets around the world.
? Work with global, regional and key country crop and segment business teams on the implementation of
product strategies by supporting and challenging the marketing organizations.
? Be a team member on business development and partnering efforts by providing market expertise and
challenging business cases to protect the company?s interests during negotiations.
? Work with global, regional and country business teams to define and prioritize key product attributes and
success metrics.
? Prioritize development investments for assigned active ingredient, including order of country introductions to
be consistent with the new asset strategy.
Desired Skills & Experience
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
? Master?s degree (M.A. /M.S.) or higher in business or marketing, biology, chemistry, soil science or weed
science, agricultural research experience (familiarity with experimental design and statistical analysis), and
working knowledge within the disciplines of entomology, plant pathology and/or weed science.
? 10 years of professional experience including; 5 years progressive marketing experience with demonstrated
competency in strategic and analytical thinking in the agrochemicals market, includes International work
experience.
? Deep technical understanding of biologic products and their fit in agricultural markets, including competitive
products and agronomic practices, understands the agrochemical product development processes, strategic
brand management practices and PLCM principles.
? Strong professional demeanor, interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly and convincingly communicate.
? Strong organizational and administrative skills, ability to prioritize and follow?up on work assignments,
maintains accurate records.? Time and territory management skills
? Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak to and convince senior management (at company and
partners).
? Strong analytical capabilities, professional project management skills, including consensus building, cross?
functional team management, meeting management and oversight of key deliverables.
? Ability to solve practical problems and work in an unstructured environment.
? Ability to multi?task and work in a fast paced environment.
? Professional and confidential, high degree of self?motivation, works independently and as a member of a
team, establishes and maintains effective working relationships, maintains and delivers to multiple and
changing timelines and deliverables, entrepreneurial mindset and resourcefulness to get the job done.
? Basic mathematic principles and an understanding of agricultural statistics and marketing analytics, including
NPV, ROI, gross margin, etc.
? Microsoft Suite of programs including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other programs.
Salary and Grade Level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
