At Calxeda, you will utilize your established management skills and technical expertise to drive the California hardware design team. Your leadership will result in the architecture, design and development of critical features and capabilities that enable the Calxeda system solutions to deliver performance/watt/bottom-line results that have never before been seen. You will work closely with the Austin, TX hardware design team, as well as the California and Texas software teams to plan and implement design and verification infrastructure and test. With your industry experience, you will be expected to contribute to the program from day one.
Responsibilities:
--Manage a small but growing hardware SoC team from both technical and people-managing aspects.
--Lead and develop the California hardware SoC team through mentoring, teaching, training, etc. Drive continual improvement and learning.
--Lead cross functional project teams in development, tracking, and reporting on the status of all project deliverables and schedules throughout the project cycle to deliver on time and budget.
--Develop, optimize and execute test plans using random and directed methods.
--Analyze and define opportunities for performance improvements.
--Analysis test coverage to find coverage holes and write tests that drive coverage to goal levels.
--Implement verification environments and systems that utilize VIPs (verification IP) from 3rd party companies to model external functions and ensure Calxeda logic properly interacts with these VIPs.
--Ensure overall functionality, pre tape-out, of the SoC in its targeted application.
--Be a solid member of a small dynamic team where you can contribute in many technical areas, including areas and technologies for which you have not been an expert in the past.
--Intermittent travel to both Calxeda locations will be required in this position.
Education/Qualifications:
--Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required (graduate degree preferred) with 10+ years of Design and Verification experience.
--Experience in defining, owning and driving verification environments, test plans, and execution.
--Experience in verification automation and coverage.
--Experience in driving Random based testing.
--Experience with Verilog, System Verilog, PERL and C.
--Experience with OVM/UVM is preferred.
--Experience with Switched Fabrics and Network Topology is a plus.
--ARM-based SoC and AXI experience is helpful.
--RTL and logic design understanding and experience.
--Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve personal and professional skills, combined with openness to constructive feedback.
--Strong communication skills.
