Job Description

Responsibilities:
Departmental oversight of HIM functions and processes at client engagements. Client engagements are on-site nationwide and vary in size and scope. Size ranges from one acute care hospital to a regional health system.
Partner with the Executive Leadership team at client facilities to develop a process improvement plan, implement processes, and technology and procedures to deliver requested outcomes.
With the support of the Precyse Management team, you will lead re-engineering efforts as required and assess process and system/software applications within the scope of the client engagement. You will independently manage multiple client priorities and develop project plans and timetables commensurate with each assignment. Comprehensive, clear and concise documentation of project status, recommendations, deliverables and outcomes required.
Execute the Precyse vision of the HIM future by re-designing the HIM functions within a department as needed. Supervise the operations of HIM and staff as requested and ensure all job responsibilities are covered to meet the goals of the client.
Participate in the Client Referral Program with incentive opportunities for cross-selling business in client accounts.
Participates on all applicable committees and professional organizations as well as maintaining personal and professional education and growth. Precyse will reimburse you for one credential due annually.
Leverage Precyse University as a tool for training staff including the ICD-10 education of the Coding team.
Utilizing standardized Precyse formats, prepare and provide regular operational and client reports.
Maintains current skill set with regard to government regulations, compliance and JCAHO guidelines. Must be able to lead efforts for The Joint Commission preparation and survey.
Supports Precyse's Compliance Program by demonstrating adherence to all relevant compliance policies and procedures as evidenced by in-service attendance and daily practice; notifying management when there is a compliance concern or incident; demonstrating knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations as evidenced by appropriate handling of patient information; promoting confidentiality and using discretion when handling patient information.
Requirements
Up to 100% nationwide travel is required.
RHIA or RHIT Credential.
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent experience required. Master?s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 15 years? HIM Director experience in at least two 200-bed facilities required.
Experience in an electronic medical records environment.
Required HIM skills: DNFB management, CMS regulations, The Joint Commission standards knowledge, HIPAA knowledge. Preferred skills: project management, electronic record implementation and reengineering, MPI cleanup, operational assessment, business process redesign, outsource transcription management, compliance regulations knowledge, staffing, software/hardware justification.
Previous HIM consulting experience preferred.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Requires strong interpersonal skills to work with physicians and staff to implement positive/effective change. Demonstrates knowledge of computer technology and automated system designs for HIM. Demonstrated customer-oriented management style. Computer knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
