Director, Human Resources-Epocrates- San Mateo CA
Responsible for leading, implementing and delivery of Human Resources strategies, policies, and services that create, support and sustain a high performance, innovative and entrepreneurial culture for the Epocrates San Mateo Office; reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Essential Functions:
Recruiting and onboarding new hires.
Position Management and Organization Structure Design
Coaching and counseling Managers and employees on all matters related to attracting, retaining, developing and managing employees to greater productivity as well as providing advice and counsel in employee relations matters
Performance management: Coaching new and current managers of our policies regarding performance management, performance improvement plans and 360 performance and development reviews. Identify high potential employees and help develop career goals for retention.
Compensation Administration: Participate in surveys, prepare offers and promotional increases as well as understands have a strategic insights into compensation as a motivational tool
Training and development: Creating and implementing training and development programs which may include leadership, new management training, recruiting policies, and performance management and career development. Ability to identify training needs, create a training strategy, develop materials and measure success of the programs.
Benefits administration: including qualified and non qualified plans as well as disability, workers compensation, insurance or benefits plans.
Partner with Line managers: diagnose issues, design solutions and implement change as appropriate
Immigration matters: some familiarity with employment related visas and issues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the federal, state and local labor, employment disability and workers compensation laws.
- Demonstrated expertise in HRIS , recruiting and payroll systems and reporting capabilities
- Strong Analytic skills and data based decision making skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership skills and unquestionable integrity
- Ability to handle and resolve problems, confidential and sensitive situations and issues of complex nature

- Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas: recruitment; compensation; employee relations; management coaching; organizational development
Education and Experience:
- BA required, Masters in related field strongly preferred
- 8+ years of Human Resources generalist experience, specialty experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- May be required to travel up to 25% of the time
