Position: Industry Strategy Director for Education
Reports:
Location U.S. Remote or Regional Office
JOB SUMMARY
Working closely with sales, services, and designated products groups within Infor, the Industry Strategy Director plays a dual role:
1) Identify, prioritize and drive execution of opportunities for growth within public services group playing a leadership role around K-12 and Higher Education â€" new markets, new segments, new product opportunities, packaging of solutions, partners, etc.; and
2) Evangelize Infor's current solutions and offerings with applicability within public services and, more specifically, K-12 and higher education.
PERFORMANCE DIMENSIONS & KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) Specific KPI's Critical to the success of the position include:
1. Drives revenue growth and category market share leadership for assigned segment(s)
2. Maintains full understanding of Infor products and strategic direction
3. Accelerate the success of new product introductions to target public services target markets with focus on K-12 and Higher Education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •
Revenue (50%): Significant time is spent with executive-level prospects, customers, and influencers for the purpose of building Infor's overall public services and K-12 and Higher Education brands, communicating Infor's strategy, supporting revenue growth goals and assessing market and operational opportunities. Revenue-related responsibilities of this role include:
o Create and present Infor's industry vision/direction both externally during conferences, trade shows, and sales opportunities to key executive decision makers and influencers and internally to key functional areas (sales, services, R&D, etc.)
o Build, present and execute annual industry business plans (with P&L projections).
o Provide industry knowledge to support sales with Infor's competitive differentiation within the broader public services and focused on K-12 and higher education. This includes creation and updating content for use by field sales.
Solution (25%): Research industry trends and emerging opportunities and provide recommendations to the organization. Facilitate rational, unbiased win/loss analysis to understand Infor's position with customers, prospects and competitors within closed sales opportunities. Identify and communicate high level business requirements to guide/shape product roadmap, strategic partner selection and acquisition planning.
o Identify key trends and monitor industry dynamics to determine how Infor can capitalize on new market opportunities.
o Interacts with other groups within Infor including executive management and key functional areas.
Industry (25%): In addition to leveraging industry thought leadership to drive next generation solutions, to also be Infor's “voice of the market/industry†to articulate and relate how Infor solutions create value within an industry.
o Actively participate in industry conferences, publications, etc., to create awareness for the Infor brand and solutions. External audience includes industry analysts, new and potential customers, and industry thought leaders and influencers.
o Identify and establish relationships with industry partners within the specific vertical which complement Infor's offerings in the vertical and contribute to Infor's growth within that vertical.
QUALIFICATIONS Levels Director
Minimum Qualifications 8+ -12 and/or Higher Education administration experience• Related enterprise software applications experience highly desirable (e.g. ERP, EPM, BI, Student Information Systems.)• Graduate degree, Preferably at the Doctorate level, in public affairs, public administration, business, education, higher education administration , or related field • Demonstrated ability to lead a collaborative team of people and a program of work within budget • Proven organizational, leadership and decision making skills • Strong entrepreneurial, and/or can-do attitude • Ability to interact and influence effectively at with senior executives and board of directors • Strong writing, verbal and presentation skills • Strong influencing and negotiation skills Preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS • General office environment • High levels of stress may occur periodically • Travel â€" 25 â€" 70% travel required to perform essential functions • Local 30-75% of the time • No special physical demands • Internal Clients of Position â€" product management, sales, marketing, services and development •
