The Director IT, under the direction of the Vice President of Cloud Services and operations is responsible for day to day operations of corporate systems, facilities oversight, internal application services and security compliance across the organization. This position will provide leadership to a global technical organization, manage budgets, coordinate corporate build out activities, oversee technology projects and interact directly with the corporate leadership team.
Define strategy and architecture for corporate systems and internal application services.
Work closely with business leads to understand new requirements and ensure that service levels are being met
Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering function.
Develop and manage the design, build, deploy process for development environments with involvement from R&D, the Security Council, system engineers, DBAs and quality assurance.
Develop metrics, monitor and report on performance, availability usage to ensure resource capacity is being effectively manages and service levels are being met.
Participate in the security council and play the role of the information security manager with responsibility for ensuring that all security requirements are being met across the organization
Develop and manage approved engineering budgets and monitor actual expenses to budget
Oversee and manage third party partners and assesses performance via quarterly score cards
Provide technical leadership to engineers and architects regarding day-to-day deliverables, projects and tasks
Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
Define, maintain and implement system and operational procedures in order to comply with customer expectations and best industry practices.
Bachelor?s Degree in computer science, business or related field
Minimum 10 years? experience in information technology with substantial involvement in managing system administration and system engineering staff.
Solid experience on midsize to large application development projects from requirements through implementation
Solid experience in designing secure and efficient corporate systems platforms.
Ability to work under tight deadlines with capability of managing several projects/products concurrently.
Proven ability to develop metrics based environment that improves efficiency and better manages resource capacity.
Exceptional leadership skills to manage a small team of engineers and technical staff
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Outstanding oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external resources
Proven ability to think strategically and tactically and translate into daily management tactics
Proven ability to manage third party partners.
Experience working directly with executive management.
Experience working in a regulated environment and having led third party audits a plus.
Experience with working with a cloud provider (such as AWS or Rackspace) a plus.
Experience in agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies and practices a plus
Superior work ethic and sense of urgency to deliver on expectations
Required Travel: 20%
