As Getaround's Insurance and Regulatory Affairs Director, you will navigate the treacherous waters of risk management and insurance regulation. Since day one, insurance, trust and safety have been a top priority at Getaround?we actually went so far as to change state legislation!In this role, we're looking for someone to further develop our insurance program, set up key partnerships and to change relevant legislation/regulation. What you'll be doing
Drive Getaround's insurance program, including partnerships and vendor relationships, with a focus on structuring the optimal insurance program with two goals: expansion and cost reduction.
Manage all of Getaround's insurance and risk programs. This includes our auto insurance, general liability, renter and car eligibility strategies, and claims handling systems.
Work with state DOIs and regulators to pass favorable legislation in key markets across the country.
Draft contracts, terms, and policy language for all insurable programs at Getaround.
Analyze and model insurance risk to estimate optimal premium pricing.
Requirements
Insurance product development experience
Senior relationships with the largest personal auto insurance carriers
Senior relationships and experience interfacing with regulators and elected officials
Senior deal making and business development experience
Additional awesomeness
San Francisco Bay Area resident
Experience working within a startup
Experience brokering and placing insurance coverage
Actuarial experience pricing personal auto risk
