The Director of Operations will be tasked with delivering the strategic and tactical structure necessary to support and operate a high volume, dynamic and rapidly changing 24/7 B2B site. He/she is responsible for leading the frontline Network Operations Center (NOC) and Systems Engineering teams, which encompass data center architecture and design, networks and LINUX systems support and 24x7 monitoring and management.
The Director owns the implementation and management of all hardware, networks, vendor connectivity and the operation of the Dotomi application designed to target highest response and 100% availability. Works closely with both internal and external teams and vendors to guarantee continuous site availability, delivery on Service Level Agreements and maintaining site performance and operation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
? Develops and executes the direction and delivery for the operations and system engineering functions to maintain web site performance, stability and application execution.
? Establishes the policies, procedures, and practices to operate the site at full capability while supporting continuous expansion. Executes consistently with a focus on operational excellence.
? Leads and manages the architecture, design and implementation of the servers and network infrastructure to provide low latency, high-performance systems.
? Directs the daily operation and delivery of the Dotomi site. Creates and drives the operations and support team to act and proactively identify areas of improvement to attain higher system throughput and reliability.
? Develops and executes high degrees of automated process, implementation and delivery of infrastructure and support systems.
? Delivers constant improvement in real-time identification and resolution of real-time problems. Brings a deep attention to process, training and actions necessary to support cutting time off of outages and issue detection, response and recovery.
? Establishes and maintains appropriate operational tools, monitoring methods and site metrics and reporting to determine and track needs and trends for support, issues, and capacity. Reviews production reporting and logs as necessary and makes actionable plans for constant improvement.
? Manages outages and events that impact client-facing services as well as back-office business support services. Develops escalation procedures to ensure reliable operations and response to incidents. Delivers improvements and changes as necessary to repair recurring issues and proactively identify and prevent other issues affecting the site operation or customer experience.
? Owns and drives the Root Cause Analysis process for system, third party and application failures. Delivers actionable root cause analysis of issues and assists with delivery of results.
? Maintains close working relationships with internal teams and vendors to establish tight service level agreements, support and management methodologies. Regularly meets with counterparts to investigate better management and stability aspects of all parties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
? Hands-on experience with running a front line 24x7 operations team and developing the staff, tools, SOPs and processes required for a high volume site.
? High level of technical understanding and competence across multiple intersecting disciplines to be able to quickly analyze situations, correlate ideas, and make decisions on issues and resolutions.
? Highly execution driven work ethic to do ?what ever it takes? to deliver site operational excellence. Not afraid to roll-up sleeves and personally dive in to solve problems to deliver to expectations.
? Ability to lead by example and not just delegation to motivate and extract perfection from the team.

Experience & Education
? Eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience managing all aspects of system, network and site operations and design. A minimum of two years with director-level responsibilities for multiple departments or commensurate proven experience and leadership.
? Multiple years of hands-on experience architecting, designing and implementing enterprise class, high-availability, open-system environments, currently based on a RedHat Linux, Dell server and CISCO networking infrastructure.
? Minimum bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.
