Role Definition
The Director of Information Security is responsible for the overall direction of all security functions associated with Information Technology applications, communications (voice and data), and computing services within the enterprise. At the same time the Director of Security must be aware of the implications of legislated requirements that impact security for the enterprise. This includes but is not limited to Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 requirements.
The Director of Security has the responsibility for global and enterprise-wide information security; he/she is also responsible for the physical security, protection services and privacy of the corporation and its employees.
The Director of Security oversees and coordinates security efforts across the enterprise, including information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups, to identify security initiatives and standards. The Director of Security works closely with the Chief Information Officer and must have strong working knowledge of Information Technology and Product Development/Engineering.
Responsibilities
Develop the overall Risk Management strategy and ensure the execution of that strategy. Understanding of the global threat landscape and adapt as necessary to respond to changing risks and threats.
The Director of Information Security will oversee the creation and maintenance of Information Security policies, lead security risk assessments, and own the awareness and training programs for the company
Represents the company in all Information Security related communication initiatives and projects for the company including incident response and metrics
Ensures a viable security program for the entire company; considers size, business continuity, financial resources in designing an appropriate plan for Parallels
Directs the investigation and remediation of security breaches
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the leadership team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation
Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community
Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security
CISSP preferred
