Director, Magnetic Resonance Imaging ViewRay
ViewRay is seeking a senior-level engineering manager to drive programs for the development and enhancement of magnetic resonance imaging for application in ViewRay?s MRI-guided radiotherapy technology. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to take the technology of MRI radiology into a new and important area of cancer therapy. The successful candidate will build and manage a team of engineers, and work with Research, Product Marketing, and other groups within ViewRay to drive programs in MRI to keep ViewRay at the forefront of this technology.
Responsibilities
Drive programs for the development and enhancement of magnetic resonance imaging for application in ViewRay?s MRI-guided technology.
Assess the current and long-term needs in the area of MRI technology for the ViewRay system and champion a roadmap of continuous product development and improvement in this area.
Build and manage a team of engineers to execute the roadmap in MRI guidance technology.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
Serve as a key technology and business contact for component vendors for MRI technology, and manage product development and continuous improvement programs with them.
Work with Research, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, Service, and other groups within ViewRay to ensure that the business needs of the company in the area of MRI are met.
Qualifications
MS or equivalent experience in MRI; PhD preferred.
10 years of experience in two or more of the following: hardware, software, and algorithms for MRI.
5 years of management experience, including leading teams, projects, and programs, or directing the allocation of resources in a leading company dealing with MRI technologies.
5 years of experience leading cross-functional program teams in the field of MRI.
Strong business acumen with the proven ability to influence organizations.
Strong oral and written communications skills; strong interpersonal skills; experience with presenting program information to senior executives.
Successful track record of executing significant projects in the field of MRI.
A strong understanding of processes, regulations, and standards in the field of MRI.
Successful experience working with contract development firms and contract manufacturers.
Experience with managing programs with annual budgets exceeding $10 million.
Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture.
