Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has five targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
Job Description:
The Director/Manager of the Immunoassay Development Group (IDG) will be responsible for the scientific and managerial leadership of a team focused on the development, validation, and implementation of bioanalytical assays (PK/TK, immunogenicity, and neutralizing antibody assays). In addition to a hands-on role in developing assays, the position is also responsible for managing the transfer, validation, and sample analysis to CROs. The Manager of IDG will be a key member of the Merrimack's drug development teams and will work closely with quality control, toxicology, and clinical.
Job Requirements:
The position requires a M.S. or Ph.D. in immunology, biochemistry, or a related field and 7+ years of experience. The successful candidate will have direct hands-on experience in the development of these assays and managerial experience in areas related to pharmaceuticals/biotechnology. Direct experience in GLP assay validation and familiarity with the relevant regulatory guidance is required. Experience with PK assay methods used for small molecule drugs is a plus.
The candidate should have excellent team skills and effective organization and presentation skills. The candidate must be reliable and motivated, with strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) and the desire to work in a team environment.
