General Description:
The Director/Manager of Marketing will be responsible for business management of key markets. Responsible for developing and overseeing marketing strategies, plans and programs to create brand awareness, establish brand preference and drive business growth. This position will coordinate programs and activities through sales management and specialty distributors to ensure brand consistency and ensure market strategies are consistent with direction set by the company. Determines pricing, distribution and product positioning strategy and provides recommendations to the executive team. Manage projects to analyze market feasibility, customer requirements, profitability potential, etc. to make go/no-go recommendation to executive team. The person must have the requisite business experience necessary to operate in a start-up company environment. They must be capable of being self directed, highly motivated and able to succeed with the resources that are available.
Key Duties And Responsibilites:
Actively participate in establishing the strategic focus and direction of the business.
Manage entire product portfolio, including: product strategy, product development initiatives and product training
Review product plans for balance, profitability, thoroughness and attention to long and short range development.
Develop, review and appraise marketing plans for new products and/or product line extensions
Implement marketing plan that optimizes the market share and profitability of new products consistent with company objectives.
Oversee creation of marketing materials, advertising, direct marketing campaigns, sales training material and forecasting.
Implement and interpret product/sales metrics and make appropriate adjustments meet business plan
Develop clinical relationships
Supervisory Responsibilites:
Provides marketing support to Field Sales and Distribution channels.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires 50 travel.
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required for this position.
MBA or equivalent in experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in medical devices.
Proven track record of defining and launching new device products
Solid understanding of market planning, forecasting, budgeting and overall marketing management
Knowledge of disposable OR/surgical based products. Experience with surgical implantable devices or soft tissue repair products preferred.
Experience marketing to physicians essential. Ambulatory Surgery Center and Hospital experience well regarded
Ability to drive and manage multiple projects, timelines and deliverables simultaneously.
Excellent communication, leadership, target analysis and organizational skills required
Able to meet aggressive deadlines and achieve effective time management for self as well as team
Strong experience developing advocates and working with KOLs
Proficient in MS Office
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a start-up or small company environment highly preferred
Experience in urology or soft tissue repair products
Direct 2 years in sales in medical device industry
