As Director Measurement Research, you will provide a critical link between the most technical areas of the Datalogix organization and our clients and their support teams. Advanced interpersonal and communications skills, previous exposure to a broad array of organizational disciplines, and deep analytical insight will all be needed to successfully interface daily with external clients, sales, account management, graduate level statisticians, database administrators, operations staff, and product management personnel. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast paced and evolving environment.
Your performance will be measured by the quality of the analytic work, the effectiveness of the communication created to explain analytical conclusions, and resultant internal and external changes produced by the analyses that are delivered.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide analytic thought leadership across the organization
Effectively communicate with Product Mgmt, R&D, and Engineering groups to generalize and scale analytical methods that are discovered on client or campaign specific analyses
Manage a team of analysts. Define priorities for team members and manage expectations for delivery of work. Mentor and develop young talent resulting in increased autonomy and output
Improve existing work or author original analysis that advance our ability to interpret results and address previously undiscovered challenges that reduce our ability to deliver outcomes that exceed client expectations
Identify and solve complex questions for our digital and offline marketing products through quantitative means, including
Creation of effective campaign designs for offline, digital, & cross-channel campaigns
Evaluation of results from for offline, digital, & cross-channel campaigns
Troubleshooting underperforming output
Knowledge of audience targeting and digital display, mobile and video technology
Experience working with agencies, trading desks, portals and ad networks
Create or develop impactful presentations that:
Communicate analytical findings in an intuitive manner
Overcome sales objections
Provide compelling recommendations that are supported by well conceived, hard hitting, and pragmatic analysis
establish credibility and rapport with audiences ranging from Analysts & DBAs to Media Planners & Circulation Managers to CMOs & CEOs

Here?s a summary of the skills you?ll need for this position:
Education / Work Experience:
MBA or MS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering with exemplary academic performance
8-10+ years of experience in consumer marketing analytics, preferably for a large retailer, database marketing, or web / marketing analytics firm
5+ years managing/developing a team of analysts
2+ years of experience consulting experience. Focus on quantitative projects and relationship management responsibility preferred
Technology / Tools:
Passion for and mastery of tools needed to deliver powerful data analysis (SAS or R, SQL, etc.) is required
Experience working with large datasets (billions of records) strongly preferred
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel, PowerPoint)
Technical expertise in analytic software, preferably SAS BASE/STAT and/or R preferred
Knowledge base (or demonstrated aptitude) needed to automate analysis across applications (SAS, Microsoft Office, Netezza, VBA, etc.) preferred
Exposure to and understanding of various Web Analytics packages (Omniture, Core Metrics, etc.) preferred
Skills & Working Style:

Knowledge base (or demonstrated aptitude) needed to automate (or guide the automation of) analysis across applications
