The Director, Media IT Operations role reports to the Information Technology Vice President and is responsible for direct leadership of the department. This role will be responsible for providing leadership, project management and technical expertise. This is a highly visible position that requires a self-managed, pro-active, motivated and inspirational leader.
This role is responsible for insuring that our global media players at customer locations are always operational. This includes leading the entire end-to-end process for media players, including setup, configuration, content pre-loading, content scheduling, content distribution from our edit facilities to the cloud server, from the cloud server to the edge server and/or player, playback of content, reporting, monitoring and connectivity. Simply put, this person is responsible for our global media players ?always working? at our customer locations every day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the position. This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.
?The escalation point to resolve issues with media players not fully functional in the field
?Manages and coordinates the efforts of his/her team to perform the end-to-end operations of the players, including:
? Player setup, configuration, content pre-loading
? Video content scheduling (interface from production to scheduling to distribution of content to the players)
? Player monitoring (Video Operations Center, Media Network Operations)
?Provides pro-active leadership to keep all players at >99.99% playback capacity and >97% connectivity
?Coordinates his/her teams interfaces with other departments (eg video production, audio production, inventory/warehouse, shipping, design engineers, roll-out teams, client managers, project managers, etc) to insure that a player is setup, shipped, installed and plays content.
?Maintain comprehensive understanding of current and future business needs
?Defines, implements, and monitors the workflow between the team (i.e. player setup, content scheduling, playback and monitoring) and other departments, Note that the workflows should be automated (tracking, monitoring, reporting, approving) to insure a consistent, repeatable process with
