The Rubicon Project Demand team is seeking a Director of Mobile Business Development, based in New York City, to work with mobile buyers including ad networks, DSP and agency trading groups in North America. Reporting to our VP of Business Development, the position is an opportunity for a senior contributor to enable mobile buyers to use the Rubicon platform to purchase digital inventory from our publishers during a critical inflection point in the industry for real time trading and automation.
Primary responsibilities are to drive the adoption & on-boarding of new buyers onto Rubicon?s REVV buying platform. A balance of consultative and transactional selling skills is required. This opportunity is tailor made for a stellar individual with the desire to work with an exceptional team and platform, while having a strong passion for what technology and automation can deliver for digital buyers.
Requirements:
A seasoned and aggressive sales producer with experience penetrating & navigating mobile buyers including demand side platforms, agency trading units and ad networks.
Buy-side experience selling mobile platforms or advertising.
Manage all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing, & on-boarding to hit aggressive quarterly quota goals.
Sales process aptitude: activity tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting.
Exhibit a deep understanding of mobile & desktop display market trends, opportunities, and challenges ? and how they impact Rubicon?s market strategy.
A consultative, educational sales approach balanced with assumptive transactional style.
Strong interpersonal skills: a charismatic and practical sales leader to earn the respect and relationships of emerging demand partners.
Represent Rubicon at Industry events and seminars.
Travel will be required for this role (West Coast, Midwest, East), but primary accounts will be located in NYC.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree.
5-10 years of sales experience required, including time with a mobile platform, demand side platform, trading unit or ad network.
Strong understanding of industry trends, technologies, opportunities/challenges, and pricing models.
Strong knowledge of how media is bought, sold and delivered ? both in the traditional channel and programmatic channels.
