Job Summary:
Venture backed, 200+ person, Seattle-based Varolii Corporation provides interactive customer interaction management (CIM) solutions delivered through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. B2C Enterprises across 5 primary Fortune 1000 sectors leverage these solutions to automate more of the proactive, self-service customer communications process, resulting in improved operational performance and enhanced customer relationships. Varolii?s multi-channel solutions deliver ongoing valued based on its unique delivery model which combines the convenience of SaaS with a fully managed services environment, an approach that ensures clients achieve an immediate, sustainable ROI. Varolii operates over 800 interaction application instances, on a shared tenant fabric, for 400 corporations.
We are seeking to appoint a seasoned Director of Mobile Services. This individual will have the experience and talent to position and message Varolii?s mobile product and service lines in its target markets, while also differentiating it against competitors. This individual will leverage their broad technical experience and development skills in the implementation of mobile applications as they oversee the mobile delivery organization. The Director of Mobile Services will thrive in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment where their vision and strategy is key to bringing the right Mobile solutions to market. This position reports to the VP of Professional Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clearly communicate and represent Varolii?s Mobile application vision to the market, while working closely with product management on its evolution
Take an active role in developing mobile strategies for our clients
As part of a larger team, act as primary lead in new business development for mobile, including developing and presenting solutions, proposals, and pricing
Lead the mobile delivery practice within Varolli, providing technical direction, setting vision, goals, and direction for the team
Ensure Mobile solutions are delivered to our clients on time, on budget, and with the highest levels of quality
Support the identification, definition, and development of new mobile products & services
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Detailed technical knowledge of the languages, platforms, tools, and frameworks for iPhone, iPad and/or Android
Extensive technical expertise in all technical aspects of mobile development platforms, both native and web based
Demonstrated experience positioning and selling mobile solutions in the market
Proven people leadership and management skills
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and problem-solving skills
A sense of controlled urgency, with the ability to make decisions and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to analyze and communicate technical issues with clarity, lead discussions, and influence decisions
Excellent presentation and demonstration skills and the ability to adapt messaging to target audience
Proven ability to work at all levels as a senior management team member
Comfortable representing the company & its Mobile vision in front of customers and prospects, trade associations, and forums
Flexibility to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision and an ability to excel in a cross-functional environment
The self-confidence and passion required to get things done in difficult times and find creative solutions to problems against all odds
Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, Seattle, WA
Education / Experience:
5-10 years of digital experience
4+ years of mobile development experience, preferably across a number of verticals
A minimum of 5 years leading a large team of software engineers
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or related field) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Software Development. Masters preferred.
2-4 years mobile strategy experience required
