THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Director of Academic Affairs assists the Vice President, Academic Affairs & Curriculum - Education with the administration of the company?s academic programs and the ongoing strategic program development of existing and potential university partners. Under the direction of the Vice President, the Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for administering, overseeing, and facilitating matters pertaining to partner university program offerings; the retention of high quality faculty; and the Education Department?s support of teams within the company.
Drive the development and implementation of a strategic plan and marketing direction for the specific online Education degree programs that match market demand.
Drive online degree program growth and quality to maximize partner universities? online offerings.
Lead in the development, growth and maintenance of quality oversight for each university partner?s undergraduate and graduate curriculum and instructional programs.
Serve as the Education Department?s liaison to and an academic resource for partner universities.
Conduct the academic review of programs offered by proposed partner universities with a specific focus on the quality and market demand of these programs.
Assist in the recruitment and support of part-time faculty.
Ensure that each part-time faculty member is fully informed and has confirmed understanding of his/her responsibilities and the company?s expectations and verify periodically that those responsibilities and expectations are being effectively met.
Work in collaboration with each partner university and the Faculty Manager in making faculty course assignments.
Assist the Vice President in the development and delivery of faculty professional development and in faculty performance reviews.
Advise and develop strategies for partners and HotChalk to stay within compliance of State Higher Education Commissions, Regional and Professional Accrediting bodies.
Facilitate targeted and ongoing training of Enrollment Specialists.
Represent the Vice President in collaborating with and providing information and support to designated departments within the company; e.g., Enrollment Specialists, Student Services, Marketing.
Act on behalf of the Vice President in various procedural processes? review and approval conducted by partner universities and departments within the company.
Represent the Vice President in all company promotional efforts for new programs.
Contribute to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities.
Assure that the Vice President is fully informed as to the status of all work conducted.
May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain the Education Department?s optimal functioning of its operations and services

The ideal Director or Acedemic Affairs will have:
Experience and expertise in Distance Education required
Doctorate in Education or related field required
Previous experience in Education required
Expertise in curriculum and program development
Clear understanding of the regulatory environment as it pertains to managing online programs
Previous teaching experience is required
Excellent writing, editing, public speaking and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proven collaborative and leadership skills working within an academic setting
Highly adaptable, flexible
Works with a sense of pride and urgency
MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; WebEx
The following skills and attributes are a plus:
Higher Education Instructional experience preferred
Business-to-business experience required
