We are seeking an accomplished mathematician/statistician and computer scientist to lead a small and talented team of PhDs and Computer Scientists to develop, analyze and program cutting-edge algorithms based on Bayesian networks, probability theory and statistical and behavioral models central to our fraud prevention SaaS applications. Given the stage of the company, this role requires hands-on, player-coach technical leadership. You need to be both a thought leader, mentor and contributing Algorithms & Computer Scientist who can roll up your sleeves to invent, extend, develop, program and implement new algorithms and underlying mathematical theory, plus use your software and database skills to help design and implement core components of our algorithms and behavior models central to our product.
Requirements
Ph.D. in Statistics, OR, Applied Math, Machine Learning, CS, EE or related engineering disciplines with focus and depth in mathematical algorithms, probability theory, statistical modeling, and machine learning
7+ years post-academic and recent industry experience in algorithm development and statistical analysis of massive datasets and events within relevant commercial software industries
Proven ability to balance probability and statistical theory and algorithms science with pragmatic problem solving skills, and a track record of developing and applying advanced predictive algorithms and behavior models to solve real world data problems
Hands on experience with statistical analysis, visualization, data mining tools such as R or MATLAB, Java programming, Python, SQL, databases, data warehouses and OLAP tools
Proven track record in hiring, mentoring and leading highly productive teams of PhDs and MSCS algorithm scientists and modeling software engineers.
