Director of Analytics CafeMom
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED CafeMom is looking for a strategic thinker and problem solver responsible for the critical function of leading our analytics and reporting function across all aspects of the Company. Reporting to the EVP of Technology, the Director of Analytics will play a key role in helping to drive the company forward by helping us drive our strategy and operations via actionable insights and reporting.
The Director of Analytics will be responsible for all corporate reporting across all of our properties: CafeMom, Mam-sLatinas, The Stir, The Prowl and any new platforms. This covers reporting and insights across web, email and social, desktop and mobile, as well as advertising performance and revenue generation.
This person needs to be able to operate at the highest and most strategic levels and truly understand all aspects of our business in intimate detail. Conversely, the person will also need to be extremely involved at the detail level in terms of understanding the data, building reports and grasping the intricacies of internet analytics.
Ideal candidates will have a strong analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation, and a strong understanding of both business and technology. This position has an extremely large scope and requires someone able to understand many disparate business concepts and platforms.
Ability to work with leaders across functions and properties to clearly define key metrics and drivers of success
Create and manage all standard reporting for all business purposes
Create ad-hoc reports and analysis for all teams across the company
Analyze data and reports and work with business teams to gather key insights from that data to disseminate to key stakeholders
Build and manage the technical infrastructure related to analysis and reporting
Manage technology and analysis vendors
Provide overall corporate direction and strategy in terms of our insights and analysis needs
Work closely with executives from across all groups within the company
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in web, email, social or other related analytics areas
Extremely skilled in web analytics packages like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics (Omniture / SiteCatalyst), ChartBeat, etc.
Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
Strong Excel user (e.g. charts, formulas, pivot tables)
Strong knowledge of relational databases and the tools and languages to access, manipulate and display that data (e.g., SQL, R, Tableau, etc.)
Understanding of the internet media business
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter -- ability to set priorities and work independently in a fast paced, lightly-structured environment. Can-do attitude important!
