Director of Analytics Animoto
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Animoto is looking for an experienced Director of Analytics & Reporting to report to the CEO and own the analytics function for the company. You will work closely with the leaders of product management, product marketing, marketing, engineering, and finance to provide analytical rigor in support of critical business decisions. You will be the ?reality expert? and help leadership translate their questions into metrics, analysis, reports, and visualizations. No dashboard, A/B test result, or board presentation graph will be believed without your stamp of approval.
The successful candidate will have deep experience in analytics and will utilize reporting best practices to lead Animoto. Ideally you have worked within other web and mobile-product organizations and understand the full software-development lifecycle. Understanding online subscription business models is a big plus. While this role is data intensive, it requires significant management and cross-team relationship building to transform the output of the analytics team into insights and actionable recommendations that are used by various teams throughout Animoto.

Define analytics and reporting function and strategy for Animoto and lead the company to adopt best practices with respect to metrics and statistically sound decision-making.
Support product management, product marketing, marketing, engineering, web, and mobile teams with metrics, dashboards and insights.
Work closely with the finance team to understand the financial reporting needs of company and board.
Support ad hoc requests for in-depth analysis across the company.
Report to CEO and manage Web Specialist (TBH) with dotted-line management of Analytics Engineer.
5+ years experience with a proven track record of using analytics to drive product and business improvement for a web-based product or service.
Thorough understanding of standard analytics, report builder tools, and online analytics metrics. Animoto leverages Google Analytics, RJ Metrics, Optimizely and a homegrown database tool.
Experience with data warehousing concepts and reporting/BI tools.
Experience measuring and analyzing web site traffic, user behavior, and multi-variant tests.
Solid statistical knowledge and intuition including proficiency with statistical techniques such as time series and regression analysis.
Expert at creating meaningful data visualizations for dashboards, executive presentations, and business case analysis.
Working knowledge of usage and correlation data science.
B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, and/or Engineering Sciences. Masters Degree a plus.
The position is based in New York City or San Francisco and reports to the CEO.
