Director of Application Development SciQuest

Overview:

The Director of Application Development will provide leadership and direction for the Product Strategy Teams.



Product Strategy Teams are responsible for all aspects of our software development. This includes customer centric product design, agile code development, user and system documentation, quality assurance, and SaaS application implementation.



Reporting to the Vice President of Technology this position is part of the team responsible for ensuring SciQuest applications deliver value to our customer?s success/satisfaction to enable retention, ROI realization, and adoption.



Creation of performance metrics, reporting and improvement targets for all responsible functional areas. Drives culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices and the use of problem solving methodologies.
Principal Responsibilities:

Lead the Product Strategy Teams to successful execution of our product roadmap and strategy.
Recruit, engage, motivate, and develop product strategy team members. Work with management team to motivate and inspire employees & associates to accomplish individual and company goals.
High level of customer focus, establish and maintain good customer relationships as an organizational leader, set the direction of customer focus for the team.
Setting operational goals and key performance indicators to measure, track and continuously improve team performance and results.
Strong communication competency, ability to effectively communication and collaborate with team, peers, customers and leadership to communicate technical solutions.
Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the needed systems, processes, and personnel to accommodate the growth and profitability objectives of our organization.
Work with Product Marketing to define product direction and roadmap.
Maintain strong working relationships inside and outside of SciQuest to facilitate alignment with strategic direction.
Learn and investigate new technologies, and determine how these technologies can best be leveraged to build state of the art software that will meet our client?s needs.

Position Requirements:

10+ years of proven leadership, preferably in an enterprise SaaS business
Demonstrated knowledge of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies
Knowledge of building and scaling software development processes and organizations
Strong sense of ownership and dedication to accomplish goals and succeed
Proficient in system analysis, procedure analysis, and problem resolution is required. Business automation and workflow process development is desirable.
Previous experience as leader of a significant business-building initiative in a high growth environment
Must have a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding target goals
Must have extraordinary organizational skills, including demonstrated prioritization skills in a rapidly changing environment
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with past successes in working across organizations to implement large-scale projects
Strong communication, presentation, documentation and problem solving skills
Ability to act independently, take initiative and drive tasks and issues to resolution
Related Bachelor?s degree preferred
Travel 10-25%
