Due to the technical strides made over the past several years we are now in a position to hire a highly qualified Director of Battery Engineering to lead the companys design and implementation of its next generation of battery products and to technically support its existing designs. This position will report to the Vice President of Product Engineering.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Director of Battery Engineering position is to drive the design, building, and testing of Aquions batteries and energy storage systems. The successful applicant for this position will be skilled at interfacing with a range of Aquion Energy team members to develop, release and support, new battery products. This position requires an individual who has relevant background and skills, possesses excellent leadership capability, is self-motivated, and has strong interpersonal communication skills.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret product specifications & research results to develop suitable and successful product solutions
Work with research, design, and manufacturing team members to develop battery packaging and electronics interfacing
Implement advanced battery materials
Modeling of battery electrochemical performance (degradation & life) modeling (life and degradation)
Validation & testing of batteries and battery systems
REQUIRED/DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 to 7 years of experience with battery technologies in an R&D and/or product commercialization capacity. Several years of experience should including managing a design or development team
Able to manage projects and interface with multiple management team members
Experience with modern product development processes including configuration control and manufacturing release.
Background and education in mechanical engineering or related field. Electrochemistry and electrical engineering experience is a major plus.
Good problem solver with strong analytical skills
Solid written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well with a team
Possess good judgment, adaptability, ethics, & professionalism
Solid, design, technical & interpersonal skills
Able to examine, read, and understand technical procedures, business periodicals, government regulations, and professional journals.
Able to write business correspondence, procedure manuals, and reports
SUPERVISORY ROLE:
Direct supervision / management responsibility for multiple engineers/technicians
