THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The position of Director of Business Development is one of major importance, high impact, and high visibility. As the Director of Business Development at Zend, you will be responsible for creating and executing go-to-market plans with key strategic partners. The role includes business development and joint responsibility in bringing to market highly valued and differentiated joint solutions between Zend and our global strategic partners, such as IBM and Amazon Web Services.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and nurturing key relationships with each partner. Your focus areas will include guiding and educating each partner on Zend?s solutions and services, as well as managing effective sales execution and field sales integration.
You will also be accountable for overall revenue goals and aligning marketing and sales resources, and ensuring each partner relationship is successful.
This is a challenging and critical role that combines the broad market reach of Zend as a leading open-source company with the channel reach of the leading Cloud vendors.

Responsibilities will include:
Develop and drive go-to-market plans with key strategic partners to achieve joint revenue growth opportunities.
Execute on go-to-market plans leveraging both partners? and internal sales & marketing teams.
Evangelize joint value-proposition within the partner, their eco-system and the broader market.
Provide hands-on leadership to sales & marketing on demand-generation and closing of business incl. education of partner and internal sales reps.
Develop appropriate incentives with sales leadership to assure success.
Professional Background and Qualification
The ideal background includes several of the following elements:
Familiarity with infrastructure software/cloud services such as Web Application Servers, Development tools, cloud software/services, middleware infrastructure or similar.
Sales experience; you will have personally sold and owned revenue targets at some point in your career. And you understand what it takes to make a sales team successful.
Experience managing strategic alliance relationships nationally and globally.
Understanding of the IaaS and PaaS markets both from a technology and business model point of view. Familiarity with pay-per-use and capacity-based pricing models.
Technical aptitude; capable of understanding the solution intersections between Zend and complimentary technologies in the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), or other stacks.
Great execution skills ? ability to take an idea from concept to execution.
Understands the development and operations roles and the appropriate sales approaches.
Candidate ideally has international business experience.
Ability to identify and influence partners in the strategic alliance ecosystem, creating leverage and multipliers for Zend.
