Director of Business Development, PCN Knowledge Networks
The Physicians Consulting Network (PCN) is one of the only health care research panels that combines senior-level survey expertise with access to thousands of hard-to-reach, highly engaged specialists. Research companies, consulting firms and ad agencies use PCN for their surveys with health care professionals such as oncologists, diabetes educators and pharmacists.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development expert to acquire new clients, develop existing clients and to support the marketing of our data collection and sample services. This is an ideal opportunity to lead the sales function for an important GfK line of business.
In addition to online data collection services (sampling, programming, data tabulations), PCN adds value by offering unique products such as MD-diary (patient chart studies), QuantM (mobile surveys), Quale (webcam enabled video) and PCN Express (quick pulse surveys). Although PCN membership is currently limited to US health care professionals, it undertakes global projects that have a US component. PCN clients are currently served by a two-person account team based in Roseland, NJ; supported by a larger panel operations team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
New client acquisition
Identify new accounts
Develop and execute account plans for building PCN business with new accounts
Revive lapsed or "cold" client relationships
Construct, manage and monitor progress towards achieving plan goals through regular reviews of business objectives.
Develop and present compelling proposals and capabilities documents for current and new clients, including in-person presentations
Lead the pricing strategies for projects and programs to ensure a profitable return for PCN
Seamlessly transition sold projects to PCN project management staff to ensure on budget, timely delivery of engagements that optimizes client satisfaction and retention
Contribute to the development of sales, marketing and advertising initiatives such as conference attendance, brochures, (electronic) direct marketing materials (eDMs) and PCN website copy.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 5 to 7 years experience selling research services (e.g. sample only, programming and sample, data tabs); health care experience a plus but not necessary
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Self-sufficient, goal directed and highly motivated to succeed with minimal supervision
Ability to collaborate with the rest of the PCN team and wider GfK colleagues
Project management experience
Education:
Bachelor?s degree; advanced degree a plus
