As a Director of Business Development for BitTorrent, you work closely with cross-functional organizations (across marketing, product, and business operations) to identify and execute on partnerships that materially impact growth and/or revenue for the company. You will also be helping build new business models and opportunities across our product lines, with specific focus on BitTorrent Sync. This is an exciting and lightning-fast environment, and your leadership will successfully influence decision-making at the highest organizational levels. You will have the potential to grow into a general management role, with a specific focus on helping lead successful new business opportunities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Managing business development strategy across multiple products, markets focused on distributed computing
Leading negotiation strategy and execution for material business partnerships and vendors
Managing the process for identifying potential acquisition targets across markets and working with corporate development on the successful execution of acquisitions
Influencing and coordinating cross-functional team work required to execute on business development deals
Effectively managing partner relationships post deal execution
Driving complex analyses for strategic negotiation dialogues
Providing subject matter expertise in executive dialogues regarding strategy, and influence and inform on product strategy
Ideal candidates will possess a strong combination of the following experience:
5+ years of business development experience within a top-tier prosumer/enterprise applications company (DropBox, Box, Slideshare, etc), mobile application company and consumer web startup
Proven track record in business development, from building out greenfield business opportunities, to conducting industry analysis to identify potential strategic partnerships or acquisitions, to cold-calling and engaging potential partners, to negotiating agreements in coordination with legal with partners and vendors, to managing partnerships post-deal to successful outcomes
Successful track record in negotiating and closing mobile content distribution partnerships, and an advanced understanding of the associated business models
Robust knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and due diligence processes
Strategic thinker with experience presenting solutions to executive-level audiences
Ability to communicate clearly and comfortably with external key clients across multiple organizational functions
Bachelor?s degree (or higher) a plus
