Job Description
Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising clinic reimbursement/coding activities for all related services including securing, maintaining and distributing the most current coding information and implementing changes. Creates the coding infrastructure and provides audit and educational support to ensure performance and regulatory requirements are met.
Creates the strategy for reimbursement/coding function. Partners with related areas, including hospital administration, clinic operations and revenue cycle management to align practices, procedures and metrics.
Sets performance goals and metrics. Plans, directs, and supervises coding staff to ensure timely, accurate and complete processing of clinic services.
Monitors activities and ensures compliance with laws, government and regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Partners with revenue cycle management and clinic operations to align practices, procedures and metrics.
Gathers and reviews patient reimbursement data, analyzes results, and prepares reports and recommendations.
Represents coding function in Leadership meetings. Oversees coding reviews with physicians.
Provides inputs to internal and external audits and implements recommendations as directed on a timely basis.
Stays current with changes in reimbursement regulations. Develops new coding policies and procedures. Educates stakeholders of significant changes, requirements and best practices.
Assists with the selection, training, performance evaluation and development of assigned staff. Recommends promotions and corrective action.
Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.
Required Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and possess strong analytical skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Electronic Medical Records systems.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Strong knowledge of IDX Groupcast, Flowcast and/or Centricity.
Required Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
5+ years related management experience in complex health care and/or multi state organizations
CPC certification required.
