Who We Want:
The Director of Compensation will serve as the lead for research, creation, implementation, communication and administration of the company?s compensation, benefits and equity programs, globally. The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership; partnering with key business leaders to ensure rewards strategies and programs support overall organizational objectives to attract and retain talent. This role will report directly to the CPO with interaction with the CFO and Leadership teams as related to budgeting and other financial matters, as necessary and as related to, the compensation programs of the company. . The candidate we are targeting will have to understand the dynamics of a high growth environment and will likely have some technology industry experience and a sincere interest in Bazaarvoice, and the social media and social commerce industry.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and administer global compensation and incentive philosophy, policy, procedures, practices and programs to drive and execute corporate strategy, support business objectives and key company priorities
Develop and maintain competitive, cost effective benefits programs
Monitor external compensation and benefit trends globally to design equitable compensation programs and packages
Design and implement short and long term incentive plans including equity design and plan replenishment
Timely data analysis to support key decisions on all programs and ensure all are reviewed annually for external competitiveness
Partner with HR business partners on all aspects of global compensation programs and advise on competitive salaries for new hires and promotions
Development, design, implementation and administration of flexible ?pay for performance? compensation programs and policies
Advise and influence the Senior Leadership team on all aspects of compensation programs and rewards
Manage executive compensation and retention including preparation of Compensation Committee meeting materials, long term incentives, succession planning and competitive new hire packages
Develop and disseminate effective and clear communications regarding all compensation, benefits and HRIS programs, policies and practices
Key participant in M&A activity and the management and integration of compensation, benefit and payroll requirements
Mentor and develop direct reports or other team members, as appropriate
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Bachelors degree required; Master?s degree preferred
Eight to ten years of relevant work experience with a strong compensation background and experience with financial modeling and analysis
Strong business and financial acumen
Knowledge of ERISA, SOX, NYSE rules relative to executive compensation and other relevant regulatory requirements
Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative and deduction skills.
Capacity to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well and build relationships across functions
Ability to analyze compensation information to facilitate decision-making by Senior Leadership, finance and operations personnel and present analysis and interpretation in clear, compelling ways
Possess strong guiding principles around their approach to compensation and ability to clearly articulate, present and drive consensus on those principles
Knowledge of HRIS systems and technical expertise required to maintain those systems
Some technology Industry experience, specifically software, social media, ecommerce or related is a plus, although not required
Global compensation experience and public company experience required
