Under the direction of the EVP, the Director of Project Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects and phases of multiple projects simultaneously in conjunction with superintendants, project managers, engineers, and sales personnel. The Director?s primary responsibility is to ensure that projects are managed to meet the following criteria: schedule, budget, quality, performance, and client satisfaction. This position has project P&L responsibility.
Duties:MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Manage and provide leadership for project team consisting of project managers, superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, and consultants as needed for individual projects.
? Provide full management accountability for project revenue, margin, and schedule, and performance for multiple simultaneous projects.
? Accurately forecast revenues and margins in conjunction with company accounting system.
? Negotiate primary contracts with customers and ensure legal compliance.
? Responsible for identification and compliance with all contract requirements, documentation, and development and processing of change orders.
? Responsible for all federal, state, local, and safety compliance
? Prepare budgets and schedules, track project actual vs. plan and take corrective action to meet objectives.
? Secure local subcontractors. Lead team in vetting and referencing, scoping, gapping, negotiating and contracting with subcontractors.
? Work with team to obtain all necessary permits, inspections, and authorizations for construction.
? Negotiate and manage interconnection with off taker or utility.
? Attend and record project meetings.
? Oversee documentation updating and control during construction.
? Management of project construction team and quality control programs.
? Prepare and oversee project close-out.
? Manage operations and maintenance (O&M) considerations into the design and construction process.
? Provide sales support for proposal preparation including system evaluation, system sizing, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
? With the engineering team, oversee system technical design and components specification for commercial PV systems.
? Oversee preparation of project close-out documentation such as manuals, drawings, reports and other documentation.
? Clearly report to EVP on a regular basis about activities.
? Enlist support from other sections of the company when necessary.
? Advanced understanding of contracts, design, specifications and construction methods.
? Detailed design and construction experience with management and contracting for geotechnical, structural, earthwork, and electrical systems.
? Remain informed on new construction means and methods.

? Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes and standards
? Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
? Proficiency with project management software, and proven ability to create and update daily, weekly, and long-term schedules

? BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related STEM discipline required.
? Fifteen or more years progressive experience in construction, including as a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Project Superintendent.
? Experience with commercial photovoltaic systems >1 MW preferred.
? Experience with large-scale earthwork construction required.
? Experience managing multiple clients.
? Experience managing consulting engineers.
? Experience with subcontracting industrial or large commercial electrical work required.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
? Strong knowledge of contract language and contract negotiation.
? Understanding of project cost accounting and tracking procedures.
? Ability to create and execute project work plans.
? Strong organizational skills.
? Ability to work with both internal colleagues and external customers and subcontractors.
? Strong experience in construction logistics, scheduling, estimating, and budgeting.
