In order to reach our goals, we?re looking to hire a Director of Consumer Communications to join our team in Washington, DC.
Manage consumer communications program for LivingSocial brand and businesses
Create and execute media relations strategy for new and existing products and initiatives
Develop and maintain relationships with key media (business, trade and consumer press)
Serve as company spokesperson in the national, local, and trade press
Manage communications team budget and agency relationship
Respond to media inquiries and manage crises related to consumer businesses
Function as primary internal contact for senior executives on media strategy and issues
Oversee executive speakers bureau program
Develop and oversee philanthropic programs and corporate social responsibility efforts
Coach and mentor junior PR team staff
Minimum of 10-15 years experience in communications and PR; some agency experience preferred
Expertise in corporate communications, social media, and integrated communications campaigns
Must have experience working with consumer clients (national brands a plus) on a wide variety of public relations and communications activities
Strong media relations skills and network of media contacts
Ability to cultivate and maintain close working relationships with internal business partners
Experience conducting executive media and/or presentation training a plus
Personality that is goal-focused, self-motivated, creative, flexible and adaptable to new situations
History of building productive working relationships across an organization
Ability to strategically and creatively think in a fast-paced environment
Excellent writing skills and great attention to detail
Experience managing teams and accounts
