Job Description
This position will be responsible for managing the CS Group based in the U.S., including overseeing a team of junior attorneys and paralegals who support the contracts and procurement services provided by this team to the legal and procurement departments of F500 companies. This position will report directly to the EVP-Contracts Legal Solutions (and indirectly to the VP-Contracts Sales), and will ensure high quality contracts services and well-crafted contracts solutions for UnitedLex's new and existing clients.
Experience and Skills
Responsibilities:
Providing legal assistance in connection with a broad range of commercial and procurement transactions including: negotiating, reviewing, drafting, and managing commercial contracts, RFQs, NDAs, OEM/supply agreements, vendor agreements, service agreements, subcontracts, consulting agreements, licenses, and certifications, among other legal contracts.
Managing, training and driving to excellence a team of contracts support personnel including paralegals and junior attorneys.
Manage contracting issues and client relations with our new and existing client base, including supporting the high growth of the CS Group.
Designing appropriate contracts solutions including working with and supporting the design of contracts authoring tools, macros, obligations management IT applications, among other practical technology powered solutions associated with providing contracts services in a highly efficient and practical manner.
Maintaining and enhancing best-in-class standard legal forms embedded in the solutions including staying abreast of applicable contracts substantive issues in areas such as indemnities, choice of law, dispute resolution, limitations of liability, insurance, among others.
Qualifications:
3+ years of prior experience as a commercial contracts attorney with a premier law firm or corporate legal department.
JD from accredited law school, with strong academic credentials and in good standing.
Primarily general commercial contracts and procurement experience only, with strong substantive knowledge and experience in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts provisions.
Prior top training in the area of providing commercial contracts legal services.
Experience with contracts software and/or excel macros a plus; advanced MS Word and Excel skills.
Leadership skills and team builder; very detail oriented.
Organizational skills and ability to balance numerous projects under pressure and to manage competing demands well.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Possess effective time management skills and be highly motivated to succeed.
