Director of Design Digg seeks a keen design eye and a great communicator to lead the redesigns of several key user experiences. This is a full-time position at Digg's headquarters in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
Since 2004 Digg has stood for regular people sharing what they think is worth reading. We invented user-ranked news, and believe a unique viewpoint comes from promoting individual judgment. Your brief is to translate these values into a new family of products that acknowledge and advance the social online experience. You will own the Digg user experience. You'll work directly with Digg Engineering to combine the Digg signal algorithm and several emerging technologies into new ways to share the best of the Internet: on Digg.com, through social networks like Facebook and Twitter, in mobile applications, and beyond. You'll also work alongside Digg leadership to shape new features and bring them to the Digg users and the larger startup community. Your work will be experienced by millions. Your experience and skills should include: - shipping interactive websites and web applications - designing products for functionality as well as visual impact - composing and enforcing design standards - a natural ability for presentation and written communication
