We have an immediate opening for a Director of Device Manufacturing in our San Mateo, California headquarters.
We are currently looking for a Director of Device Manufacturing to expand our Device Production Group. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Device Production Group is responsible for building and integrating varied array of mobile handsets, produced by multiple manufacturers, into Keynote?s proprietary testing and monitoring hardware platform. Keynote customers access these devices through Keynote?s cloud-based mobile testing and monitoring solutions or sold directly to customers for their own on-premise testing labs. The Director of Device Manufacturing is responsible for directing, defining, and managing build-out and manufacturing processes of Keynote?s Device Production Group and serve as the primary management interface with Engineering and Operations management. The successful candidate has at least 10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as strong knowledge of industry and management methodologies such as ISO 9000, Total Quality Management, or Six Sigma, with a focus on continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. This includes outgoing quality, safety and efficiency improvements for all manufactured operations and compliance with safety, state and federal regulations. Telecommuting is not authorized for this position.
Direct and coordinate production, device integration, quality control (QC), processing, distribution, and engineering activities of Device Production Group.
Define and monitor QC processes, analyze production outputs and delivery from each process group. This includes ensuring the highest quality equipment, materials, and production standards, overseeing and maintaining manufacturing budgets and working with engineers, technicians, and purchasing staff to manufacture quality products that will exceed customers' expectations in the most cost-effective manner.
Manage process management and Device Production Group, mapping and execution of production plans and schedules. Develop and implement policies and procedures, formulate manufacturing operations strategies, build and mentor process management and Device Production Group to drive business results
As a senior member of Keynote?s Operations management team, work with peers in Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Finance and Operations to drive business objectives, prioritize, coordinate team activities, and provide executive management reports of team productivity and quality.
Review and report any production issues to senior staff and partners. Document issues and recommend resolutions. Perform corrective action and inform
appropriate people for problematic devices in production.
Systemically track production devices, minimizing backlog, and align resource allocations to meet build out quotes.
Work with software and hardware engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production.
Define and manage the process for incoming devices orders from Sales to Device Production, through build out, and delivery.
Manage relationships with approved vendors to meet Keynote?s standards, requirements, and budgets.
10+ years manufacturing experience and 8+ years management experience in electronic manufacturing industry, preferably part of a production line.
BSEE or other related engineering discipline.
Experience managing and/or being a part of a QC team with strict quality standards and quotas.
Familiarity of electronic parts, components, and PCB boards and the use of electronic test equipment such as digital voltmeters (DMV), digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscope, RF probes, and logic analyzers is preferred.
C++, Java, and SQL, and/or microcontroller programming experience is preferred
Extensive experience using Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
Must be highly motivated, pro-active, a quick leaner, hardworking, and always willing to help.
Experience working in multi-cultural environments as well as working with outsourcing manufacturing vendors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interest in mobile technologies and handset devices.
Eager to exceed personal build-out quotas and assist teammates to do the same.
Willing to work weekends, when necessary.
