Overview
We are seeking a Director of DevOps Data Systems to manage the buildout of a data development operations team. We are looking for experienced candidates who are hands on leaders to design, implement and scale our data technologies, approach, and platform. Qualified candidates will bring the latest software development, automation and deployment practices and toolkits. Will have in-depth people management skill and will help develop systems to accelerate the building and usage of our data platform.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our BI team to build out their data infrastructure
- Form the basis of a team of development engineers while leading the design and implementation of the platform.
- Technical hands on management of development engineers as the team grows, to support the packaging, deployment, monitoring and system reliability scripting that turns software into a complete deployed product.
- Bring the latest tools and techniques to achieve optimal results.
- Work closely with the development teams to define the tools, processes and implementation that leverages your talent to support a fast iteration software development.
- Work with your DevOps counterparts to bring all our systems into a unified platform and process.
Key skills and experiences:
- Proven technology leader with years of progressive systems engineering experience managing large scale software development processes and HA deployments.
- Experience with team based collaborative development processes and leading teams to successful implementation.
- Experience with building and managing Hadoop clusters.
- Experience delivering revenue generating production platforms.
- Passion to develop the latest techniques and ideas to this fast growing position.
- Passion to improve software, automation, HA deployments and a willingness to work with others to disseminate your work.
- Experience with one of Python, Java, C++, C, Linux in a production environment.
- BS or equivalent in one of: CS, EE, Math or Physics
