We are seeking a Big Data industry leader to define and launch products and solutions to address the security requirements for Big Data HADOOP Clusters with NO SQL databases. The solutions entail adapting our Vormetric Data Security solutions to HADOOP and products entail developing new security solutions that address access control and data protection requirements of enterprise customers.
The Director of Engineering for Big Data will play a key role to help us establish a data security footprint for HADOOP and credible thought leadership for Big Data security in the industry.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
We are looking for a leader with a strong technical background and proven experience in HADOOP Big Data ecosystem. Responsibilities include:
Gaining insight into Vormetric?s solution, technology and approach
Bringing the understanding of Big Data HADOOP and the security issues related to controlling access to data in the HADOOP ecosystem and protecting sensitive data ecosystem to the Vormetric community.
Advancing the state-of-the-art of our solutions for Big Data: Start by leveraging the existing Vormetric Data Security solutions and move up the stack to offer application level security protecting sensitive data in the HADOOP databases such as HBase and accessed through interfaces such as Hive and Cloudera?s Impala
Staffing a focused team of engineers
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Product Development
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Direct experience building and leading a team of engineers with HADOOP, SQL/No SQL database experience
Strong network and reputation within the HADOOP community ? Ideal candidate would have contributed to Apache HADOOP projects and/or has HADOOP related work experience at YAHOO, Facebook, Hortonworks, Cloudera or at companies using HADOOP for data analytics.
Experience working at system level areas such as networking, security, databases, clustering and performance
Strong verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills
Demonstrable teamwork and working in a cross functional team with engineering, marketing and product management teams
BS in Computer Science (MS Preferred)
