Director of Engineering Cerona Networks
JOB DESCRIPTION:Cerona Networks is a cutting-edge manufacturer and integrator of satellite-based solutions. Our patented technologies are on the forefront of broadband multimedia content delivery, and two-way satellite Internet access. The right candidate will lead a team of talented multi-disciplined engineers in the design, build, and delivery to market of world-class broadband satellite network systems. Your experience and expertise are needed in:
implementing engineering processes, policies, and procedures that will ensure delivery of a world class product on time
coordinating with marketing to continuously refine the product to meet customer needs,
working with QA to test and certify the product, and
continuously cultivating the engineering organization thru hiring, performance evaluation, and people development to meet the demands of the business,
providing content for new business proposals, as well as supporting the negotiating team relative to proposal efforts.
developing and managing program plans, and
managing budgets and headcount.
This position requires a strong technical background and is ultimately responsible for the completeness and correctness of the technical design and analysis. Qualified candidates will possess the following:
BSEE, BSME, or equivalent degree.
Ten years applicable satellite networks and/or broadband VSAT engineering experience, and proven track record in leading experienced technical personnel.
A deep understanding of software development processes and life cycle management, as well as embedded systems product design and network appliance design.
Experience implementing core engineering processes, including Integrated Product Development, Design to Cost, Design for Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Test.
Experience implementing a disciplined approach to the phased engineering development process, and be decisive and effective at issue tracking and resolution.
Exceptional team building, leadership and communication skills.
Forward thinking with experience successfully shaping business strategy.
Knowledge of systems engineering competencies such as requirements management, system optimization.
Proven record of satisfying customers in demanding, design to spec, broadband systems development program environment.
Knowledge of engineering tools, design and analysis software.
Knowledge of business management skills and ability to set engineering strategies to support business objectives.
Ability to lead organizations in Risk and Issue Management and Root Cause and Corrective Action using common industry tools and processes.
