Director of Engineering DoubleTwist Corp.
Join the doubleTwist team and help create exceptional mobile media applications that brighten people?s daily lives.
Funded by several high-profile investors who backed Skype, Spotify, and Facebook, doubleTwist has a suite of tastefully-crafted freemium applications used by over 2 million people every day.
We are looking for an incredibly product-oriented Director of Engineering to assist in the architecture, design, and implementation of our ever-expanding open media platform. We want someone that?s passionate about building complex, scalable, yet highly usable software and services. You also enjoy building a simultaneously happy and well-oiled coding machine (yes, that?s your team). You?ll be interfacing with external parties (OEMs, carriers, vendors) regularly, so your diplomatic, yet persuasive, communication skills need to be top-notch too!
Pretty much everyone at doubleTwist contributes to the code base, so expect to spend a bit of time in your IDE of choice as well. Hell, our CEO cracks open emacs every day!
You must be able to dive into existing code and familiarize quickly.
You should have comprehensive experience with app development on and across multiple operating systems (we operate on Windows, Mac, Android, and more) and be fluent in multiple modern programming languages (on any given day, there are about 3-4 being checked into SVN and git).
You must have a solid understanding of multi-threaded code and potential pitfalls, how to design an app that handles network changes resiliently and that operates in a bandwidth- and memory-limited environment.
You are passionate about creating smooth, intuitive UIs and ultimately value the end (product) over the means (technology choices).
Should have a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Must have multiple years of experience managing a software development team and regularly interfacing with product, design & QA teams.
You will report directly to the founders. You are their right and left hand ? building and improving upon their vision.
