Director of Events, Corporate Meetings and Events
Vice-President of Sales and Marketing
Director of Events, Corporate Meetings & Events, is charged with developing, implementing, managing, and monitoring internal and external-facing corporate meetings and events. This position will manage and coordinate all planning and logistics related to meetings and events to ensure alignment with overarching internal client strategies/objectives and achieve revenue and budget objectives.
The Director of Events, Corporate Meetings & Events, will be directly responsible for:
Developing, managing, and coordinating event logistics (i.e. hotels, food & beverage, transportation, collateral, staffing, permits, etc.) and workable project plans in alignment with overarching event objectives.
Managing day-to-day requests from internal clients and serving as liaison/project manager.
Managing meeting and event budgets, reconciliation and billing processes.
Implementing a test and learn approach to optimize event effectiveness and ensuring data and analytics to track program success.
Tracking, analyzing and reporting on key metrics and performing continuous cost-benefit analyses for events.
Serving as day-to-day bank liaison for project management and implementation with external vendors and internal compliance and legal partners.
Serving as SME/resource and providing guidance and support to DPM's and other internal partners on smaller-scale meetings and events.
Developing and managing Meeting & Event calendars and dashboard reports.
Negotiating and managing vendor contracts.
Communicating with, assisting, and supporting Director, Sponsorship Marketing & Events on strategic, financial and operational maintenance of all corporate meeting and event activities as directed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree required.
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience, focusing on meeting and event planning, logistics and oversight; corporate event experience preferred. CMP preferred.
Proven track record of project management, juggling multiple tasks and allocating/optimizing resources and timelines.
Proven experience negotiating with and managing event vendors.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to travel to meetings and events about 30%-40% of the year.
Articulate and persuasive, accessible and responsive; strong leader who anticipates, manages and resolves problems.
Meticulous and organized; known for attention to detail but able to keep the big picture in mind.
Ability to interact effectively and garner respect from all levels of management and staff.
Clear, concise and compelling communication (verbal and written) skills.
Service-driven, setting standards for meeting and exceeding expectations.
Adaptable work styles with a broad variety of people from different cultures and disciplines, both internally and externally.
Flexible and able to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and high-pressure environment.
Self-motivated and able to operate with little direction.
