Director of Federal Business Development
The successful candidate must be capable of formulating strategies and sales tactics to identify opportunities that require partnering with Federal Systems Integrators (FSI?s) on Federal Government proposals. The individual will identify and qualify prospective opportunities, be responsible for developing relationship and partnerships to position Solera Networks for potential Program opportunities. This individual must be experienced at collaborating with the Federal Account Sales Executives who are responsible for providing sales coverage at individual agencies.
In addition, this position will identify and participate in marketing events, such as Federal trade shows, seminars and other campaigns that support growth in the Federal market. Frequent travel, up to 50% may be required for marketing and customer visits.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
Work independently to identify targeted Program opportunities
Evangelize Solera Networks to the top Federal Systems Integrators
Develop and implement the Business Development strategy, creating awareness, demand, and relationships to win new Program opportunities
Ability to work in a team oriented environment as an individual contributor.
Identify new opportunities through existing network, relationships with strategic partners and working with the Federal Accounts Executive
Qualify targeted Programs and develop opportunities through requirement analysis that meet customer requirements
Use Salesforce for opportunity tracking, accurate forecasting, pipeline management, lead generation and call activity
Prepare teaming agreements, NDA?s and RFP responses as required in responding to identified proposals
Understand technical requirements, meet proposal deadlines and commitments
Have a through understanding of Federal Government Procurement regulations
Work and communicate cross-functionally within the company to achieve results
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in business, Computer Science or related field
10+ years experience working with Federal Systems Integrators
Proven track record of winning large Program opportunities.
Established relationships with Federal Government Integrators and full knowledge of the vendor bid process and regulations.
Proven ability to prospect and build a pipeline of qualified opportunities
Very strong communication and presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences
Responsive to customer follow-up actions and attentive to reporting account information to management
A team player having the ability to manage and orchestrate corporate resources to win opportunities
Outstanding time management skills
Proven ability to forecast accurately
Excellent negotiating skills
Self-starter requiring minimal management oversight
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently to achieve success
Solid understanding of the Network Security market
A person of high integrity
US Citizenship is required
Active Government clearances at the TS level preferred
