We are looking for an experienced Director of Field Services to join our team of quality professionals. The Director of Field Services will have the overall responsibility for integrating our products and services into customer?s basic workflow and information technology infrastructures. Must have a thorough understanding and practical experience with ensuring that hardware and software systems are fully deployed, implemented and functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing installations of telematics solutions in commercial vehicles and wireless network communications infrastructure at customers? premises, managing field installation and quality assurance teams, reviewing project budgets, aligning resources, leading people, reporting project status, developing and implementing project conflict mitigations.
Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing business relationships with vendors and working closely with the sales and account management teams to satisfy customer requirements.
Oversee all field operations activities for the company including overseeing deployment teams comprised of employees, contractors and customers and coordinating schedules with vendors and customers.
Develop installation guides for customer and vendor use.
Hire and develop in-vehicle and wireless network installation, quality assurance, and project management resources.
Develop and track project objectives, resource loading, and timelines.
Oversee and document process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare and communicate project status reports, risk assessments, and where necessary mitigation plans.
Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Accomplish human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering or network design or related experience
5+ years experience in managing a field services team
7+ years Project Management experience
Must have demonstrated expertise in managing wireless deployment projects through prior experience
Working knowledge of 12/24V systems
Prior experience in vendor management
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to lead and supervise large teams of employees, contractors and customers, multiple projects, and installation environments
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent business and data analysis and process development skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possess strong analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the company
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude. Eager to become an immediate contributor to the company
Can operate in an open and collaborative environment
Must be service oriented
Must have a ?hands-on? approach
Can work with limited supervision
Ability to work in a fast moving environment and meet deadlines
Ability to travel 30% of the time
Ability to work after normal business hours as required
Knowledge of the commercial vehicle safety and operations solutions a plus
