We are currently seeking a talented Director of Finance & Administration to play a key role as the organization grows. Sorry, no relocation assistance can be provided for this role.
WHAT YOU?LL DO
With a rock star team of four, responsible for day-to-day accounting and monthly reporting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants administration and oversight of office administration.
Manage the month end close process: set timeline, review all schedules and adjusting entries, issue financial statements to department managers, prepare additional reports as needed
Manage annual budget process with VP of Finance & Administration by establishing timeline, providing guidelines to department managers and coordinating meetings to review draft budgets and ongoing review of department budgets
Ensure all regularity requirements are met in a timely basis including; annual audit, IRS 990?s & sales use tax
Maintain appropriate controls and GAAP compliance
Coordinate annual budget process
With Office Assistant, oversee the daily office/administrative functions including all communications with property management team.
Other duties as assigned.
KEY DECISION MAKING
This is a critical role with high visibility and the successful candidate will be able to work effectively and collaboratively with both internal and external business partners and the Executive Team.
This role requires good judgment, excellent management and communication skills and the proven ability to review existing internal processes and controls and potentially streamline for greater efficiency.
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RESUME (REALLY!)
10 years plus of accounting experience and 5 years plus as a supervisor - non-profit experience would be grand
A four-year degree (CPA or MBA desired)
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
Able to stay abreast of all reporting requirements and government regulations that impact the finance world especially in the non-profit arena
Budgetary analysis capabilities are required and you can demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with Sage MIP Accounting Software and the ADP Payroll Module Workforce Now a huge plus.
