We are looking for smart, energetic individuals to help us develop and launch groundbreaking employee-centered products. We are currently seeking a Director of Finance to join our team in San Jose, CA.
Responsible for day to day financial transactions, including Customer Invoicing, Collections, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll and sales commission calculations
Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, including supporting general ledger account reconciliations and maintenance of Chart of accounts
Review and distribute to management COGS and Dept. Operating Expense budget vs. actual results and follow-up on unfavorable variances
Prepare financial section of Board of Director presentation
Prepare reports for debt covenants or other required 3rd party reporting
Prepare federal, state and other tax returns
Development and implementation accounting policies and procedures, including internal controls
Management of staff
Partner closely with Leadership to develop a comprehensive annual budget, including: detail revenue computations, employee hiring plans, capital expenditures, cash burn, etc.
Develop and maintain financial model and update each month for actual finance results; changes in forecasted, hiring, direct costs and other elements that are included in the financial forecast
Review new forecast with CEO and SVP each month
Various financial analysis include key metrics, sales rep productivity, gross margin, etc.
Partner with the CEO & SVP in developing the optimal capital structure of the company, including assisting with fund raising
Develop and maintain employee compensation guidelines including base pay and stock option grants
Review and approve employee offer letters
Work with SVP to develop sales commission plans
Maintain legal files and electronic database of all contracts
Maintain employee personal files and stock option files
Maintain capitalization table
Assist SVP with various legal matters
MBA or BS in Accounting or Finance required
10+ years of total accounting/finance professional experience, 3+ years as a Controller and Manager of FP&A
Recent technology company experience in a VC funded startup
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue recognition, tax and equity accounting.
Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel
CPA, Big 4 background and audit experience a plus
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial leaders.
Proven leader who can work collaboratively, build, manage and motivate a team of accounting staff and build strong relationships across the Company.
Strong interpersonal skills an absolute must
