We are looking for a Director with significant energy regulatory experience to join our Government Affairs teamSunrun pioneered solar power service in 2007, and since then we?ve grown to become the most popular and trusted residential solar energy provider in the nation. Our continued success is highly dependent on developing and maintaining pro-solar policies at the state utility commissions and state legislatures. Because regulatory and legislative issues are always evolving, the Director of Government Affairs will play a critical role in identifying risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and advocate for policies that create a stable and economically viable residential solar market at the state and local level
- Identify, monitor and participate in proceedings at state regulatory agencies
- Provide support to our Operations team and installer partners to resolve issues with utilities
- Represent Sunrun before trade associations and industry forums
- Assess the competitive landscape and report on business opportunities resulting from policy changes
- Provide miscellaneous policy support to our Channel, Sales and Marketing teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs; must have experience working with state utility commission(s)
- Superior attention detail
- Experience managing many projects simultaneously
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to build consensus
- Ability to change course based on the needs of the business
- Ability to ?sell? the business to policy makers
- Finance/tax background a plus
- Strong work ethic, a sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively with many deadlines
